Aerospace scrap is not ordinary scrap. A bin of titanium turnings has real recoverable value, but the same bin can carry ITAR-controlled technical data, proprietary geometry, and — most seriously — parts that must never re-enter the supply chain. How an aerospace scrap program works
Scope and supplier approval
We walk your facility, review the alloys and part classes in play, confirm what is ITAR-controlled, and supply the certifications, insurance and documentation your supplier-approval process requires.
Segregation program design
Alloy separation is where the money is — mixed bins get paid at the lowest alloy in the mix. We place labelled, colour-coded containers at the point of generation, train your team, and build in FOD control and bonded storage for controlled material.
Scheduled collection under chain of custody
Controlled and bonded material moves under documented custody. Non-conforming parts stay segregated and identified through to destruction.
Witnessed or documented destruction
Parts that must not return to service are mutilated beyond reuse. You can witness it in person, or we can document it — and we issue a Certificate of Destruction naming the parts, quantities, method and date.
Settlement and reporting
Weight tickets by alloy, settlement against published indices, and diversion reporting your EHS and sustainability teams can use directly.

Are you ITAR registered?
Yes. TDR Recycle is registered with the US Department of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Our registration details and certificates are available on request and are listed on our certifications page.
Can you destroy non-conforming or life-limited parts so they cannot re-enter the supply chain?
Yes. We mutilate parts beyond any possibility of reuse and issue a Certificate of Destruction identifying the part numbers, quantities, destruction method and date. Customers may witness destruction on site, and video documentation is available where your quality procedure requires it.
We are an AS9100 supplier. Can you meet our supplier-control requirements?
That is exactly the situation our ISO 9001 certification is meant to address. We supply certificates, insurance certificates, procedure documentation and references through our procurement page, and we are used to being audited.
How do you price titanium turnings versus solids?
Separately, and that is the point. Turnings and swarf price well below clean solids, and mixed alloy loads price at the lowest alloy present. A properly designed segregation program routinely lifts total recovery substantially over a single commingled bin.
Do you handle contaminated or oily turnings?
Yes. Coolant and oil content affects recovery, so we assess it up front and can advise on centrifuging or briquetting where the volume justifies it.
