Every retired laptop is two problems in one box: data that has to be destroyed to a provable standard, and a regulated waste stream that has to be handled by someone certified to handle it. ITAD is the discipline of resolving both in one controlled process instead of letting them accumulate in a storage closet.

Receiving and audit
Assets scanned into inventory at our secured facility. Serial-level capture on all data-bearing devices.
Data sanitization
NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 methods per media type, under NAID AAA certified procedures. Verified and logged per device.
Destruction on our own shredder
Hardware is physically destroyed at our Arlington facility on our own industrial shredding equipment, under our certifications and our custody.
Materials recovery
Shredded output is separated into recoverable streams and processed under R2v3, with documented downstream due diligence.
Report and settle
Serialized asset report, Certificates of Destruction, settlement for recovered materials, diversion reporting.
What you get that you may not be getting now
Business-only
We do not run consumer drop-off. Your project is not queued behind a household television.
Both certifications that matter
R2v3 for the recycling chain and NAID AAA for the data. Many vendors hold one and hope you do not ask about the other.
Destroyed here, not brokered
A great many companies selling ITAD in Texas have no processing equipment at all. We shred on site, which is why we can put our own name on the certificate.

IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) — common questions
Do you charge for ITAD services?
It depends on the mix. Material-dense loads — servers, network gear, cabling, anything with meaningful copper and aluminium content — often settle in your favour after processing costs. Light equipment and CRT or projection displays carry a net cost. We quote it before collection, not after.
How do you destroy data?
Following NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2, selecting Clear, Purge or Destroy by media type and by your data classification. Software erasure is verified and logged per device; physical destruction is shredding or degaussing. Every method is performed under our NAID AAA certified procedures and documented on the Certificate of Destruction.
Can we witness destruction or have it done on site?
Yes to both. Mobile shredding and degaussing bring destruction to your facility, and you are welcome to witness processing at ours.
What reporting do we receive?
A serialized asset report with make, model, serial number, sanitization method and final disposition for every tracked device; Certificates of Destruction; a settlement statement for recovered materials; and environmental diversion figures for sustainability reporting.
Do you take residential drop-offs?
No. TDR Recycle serves businesses, institutions and government only.
What physically happens to the equipment?
It is destroyed on our own industrial shredder at the Arlington facility, then separated into recoverable material streams and processed under our R2v3 certification. R2v3 requires downstream due diligence, so we verify and document where those materials go after they leave us — and we can show you that chain on request.
